Special Race Events This Weekend!

Attention club members and all racers:

Last Sunday one of our oldest club members lost his home in a devastating house fire. Luckily nobody was injured in the fire, but the house and garage were a total loss. Everett Campbell was actually at our Sunday club race when he received the call from his wife letting him know that they had lost their home.

The BOD of the club has decided to hold a fundraiser race for Everett to help with some of his out of pocket and immediate needs. We will be holding TWO (2) fund raiser races this weekend. This is a 5th weekend, so we would not be normally running. We will be holding a Friday night off road program and a Sunday on road program. Since it is a bit last minute, please pass this info on to other fellow racers who may not get the information.

While we are confident that we can raise a good amount of money from both of these events, Everett is in immediate need of money. The club will be sending over a check to his family for $1000.00 today. The money that is raised from the races will go back into the club’s bank account, and if we exceed $1000.00 during these events, that extra money raised will be given directly to Everett’s family.

If you can’t make the either of the races, you can stop by the track during the event and give a donation. If that is not possible and you would like to send in a few dollars, you can PayPal me the funds and I will make sure it goes to his family. PayPal info: beach_lover91320@yahoo.com

Please try to help out one of our own. Everett is one of the most quiet, but helpful members we have.

Now that the off-road track rebuild is complete and the Golden State SCT Championship race is successfully behind us, night racing on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month is on again!

On-Road Race Results 8/8/10

Today was a great example of a strong core of club members stepping up to get the job done. The scheduled Race Director wasn’t able to attend due to a family emergency, but the show went on thanks to some dedicated club members. Special thanks to Mike Evans, Jeff Veteto, Bill Secara, Mark Blanco, Don Saul, and everyone else who contributed for teaming up to make sure the on-road program ran as scheduled. It’s due to club members like these that the on-road program has a 100% reliability record for the past several years, run entirely by club members volunteering their time.
