MAY 5TH OFFROAD CANCELED

SUNDAY’S OFFROAD CLUB RACE WILL BE CANCELED DUE TO THE BRUSH FIRE. THE PARKING LOT IS BEING USED AS A STAGING AREA AND THE FIRE CREWS HAVE SET UP THEIR TENT CITY IN THE GRASS AREA NEAR THE TRACKS.

WITH EVERYTHING GOING ON THERE AT THE PARK THE ROADRUNNERS ARE GOING TO CANCEL THIS WEEKEND OF RACING AND LET THE FIRE CREWS DO THEIR JOBS WITHOUT OUR HELP.

Race Prep Hobbies Friday Night Series

Race Prep Hobbies has approached the Roadrunners with a sponsorship for the Friday Night Series. Rich and his crew has offered to sponsor some of the classes in the series, 2wd novice, 2wd Stock SCT, 4wd novice, 4wd SCT, 2wd buggy. Series prizes for these classes will be :

1st. Set of Tires (4) for the class they are running.

2nd $15.00 Gift Card

3rd Race Prep Hobbies Pit Mat

Hard Luck $5.00 gift card to the lowest point total who has competed in every race.

I may also try to throw in a few extras if I can get a vendor to step up.

LETTER FROM RAY AND PATTI LOUPAS

Hey Bill/Cindy and all,

I just wanted to say thank you for the card and thoughts. Not sure what everyone knows other than Patty and I upped and disappeared. We didn’t make that last on road race because I finally gave into the pain in my back flanks which resulted in the discovery that I am chalked full of cancer.

I am responding well to treatment but it leaves me so weak we will likely limit our club activity to limited visits on some race days for now. On the bright side it looks like we will get through this thing but it will take a few months.

One heck of a way to lose weight and at the current rate I will likely be a chrome dome when you see me next but all in all things are going well.

Patty is the one taking it the hardest, but she is much improved since I was released from the hospital. Having me at home she can see the improvement each day. I start round 2 of treatment this Friday but at least this one will be out patient. We are hoping for the best. That will make 2 down and 4 to go for the chemo, but there will be 4 spinal treatments and then some radiation work, so it will take awhile,

Please thank the club members for me and we will be back as my health allows, in the mean time continue to tell the guys to stop fighting, enjoy the hobby.
