1/10 ROAR Short Course Truck 2WD

The ROAR rules for 1/10 scale 2WD Short Course Trucks are now well established and for 2010 are no longer categorized as "provisional".

This class structure has been incredibly successful for us and this is by far the most popular class at every race.

Realistic looks, manageable speeds, and close competition all contribute to the runaway success of this class.

Typically, racers of all ability levels (beyond Novice) are run together with pre-sorts and re-sorts keeping like drivers grouped together. An Intermediate level may be run at the Race Director's discretion depending on demand.

For the full rules see the updated 2010 ROAR Rulebook:

ROAR 2010 Rulebook

The simplified version:
  • Any 1/10 scale 2WD SCT chassis
  • Full-fendered SCT bodies conforming to existing ROAR SCT rules
  • SCT-specific 2.2/3.0 wheels and tires (NO 1/8th scale or other dish wheels)
  • Any ROAR approved 1/10 scale Stock (17.5/27T) electric motor
  • Any ROAR approved 2S (7.4V) lipo, 6-cell (7.2V) NiMH battery pack
NOTE: The requirement that motors and batteries be ROAR approved will not be enforced at non-ROAR-sanctioned events, provided that batteries are kept in safe working order and motors conform to the general ROAR 1/10 scale motor dimensions and guidelines.

NOTE: The 12T Titan RTR motor is legal for this class at non-ROAR-sanctioned events.

I like the note on tires. I know some people have been making custom SCT tires out of 1/8 scale tires and adding an outer sidewall. It is a strange rule as real life short course trucks all have custom cut tire treads. Go figure?

8.10.12.4 No tire tread cutting, bald tires or custom cut tires allowed.
